The ELA technology standards for 5th grade include many different technologies however they are not very complex to use. For 5th grade teachers should know how to use presentation software such as Powerpoint or Google. They must also be comfortable using online poster creators, mind-mapping applications such as Popplet and ebooks. I feel very prepared to implement this standard into my classroom because I have been using these technologies since I was 10 years old.
One of the tools or resources that I found through CPALMS is the "Kickin it: Playing Soccer with Inertia" activity that they have. This activity is an online resource that is interactive and teaches students the fundamentals of inertia by giving a great and relatable example of the game of soccer. This activity has many different interactive quizes and self-teaching points throughout it. I would use this resource in my classroom because it is a fun and interesting way to learn about something that may not be very interesting to all of my students.
Internet proficiency as a researcher or teacher is one of the most important things to understand as a human on this earth. Social media and the boom of the internet has made an abundance of information easily available for you but that also means there are bad or faulty news sources and information that is imperative to be able to decipher between what is real and what is not. I think that the internet searching skill that we will use the most that we learned this week is that Google has an advanced search feature that allows you to exclude certain words or phrases.
